showing movies

I was blown away at the fact that districts can find themselves in trouble when showing movies. This has been an activity I remember from my days as a student, and find myself doing now as a teacher. In fact, just last Friday our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders watched movies in celebration to the end of ISATS! I never imagined that this innocent reward to cause issues for the district. The other issue that surprised me is the 10% rule for showing clips and adding music. I never imagined the amount one was able to use was so little. I guess I have been quite illegal in my use of music and my showing of movies.
