I felt pretty comfortable using the excel program. I use it to document data and to make charts for my classroom. I also use it to keep track of times, distances, and other information for the track team. What I learned today will help me read and do comparisons more efficiently for both my classroom and the track team. Learning how to freeze the frames will be very beneficial. Also, it will help me to highlight and format my discipline chart I have created within the classroom. Furthermore, I will be able to use these skills to help me look at ISAT material much closer. As I further understand what excel can do for me, I feel it will definitely benefit me when I become a principal, especially when using it to show the teachers some of the trends or areas that will need to be addressed. The more I use excel, the more comfortable I will feel using the program to look at data other than ISAT scores.
One area of the IIRC website I feel is going to be extremely useful is the trends data. I like that I can track a certain group of students to see how they have done on the ISAT test as they went through each grade.
